Our Story
Scotia Construction was founded on a simple belief: carpentry should be done right the first time. From our beginnings in Melbourne, we have grown into a trusted partner for builders and a reliable choice for homeowners.
Our focus has never changed. We deliver quality carpentry, we respect timelines, and we stand by our word. That commitment has earned us lasting relationships with builders and homeowners who return to Scotia Construction because they know we deliver.

The Carpentry Experts
Our team is at the heart of everything we do. Skilled, uniformed, and proud to represent Scotia Construction, each carpenter brings a wealth of experience and attention to detail. We combine traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques to achieve results that are both precise and practical.
Builders value our professionalism on site. Homeowners appreciate our clear communication and care for their homes. Together, these qualities define Scotia Construction as The Carpentry Experts.
Meet the Team
Behind every successful project is a team that cares. Scotia Construction is made up of qualified carpenters,
apprentices, and support staff who share the same values: honesty, reliability, and pride in their work.
Allan
Director
Hi, I’m Allan. I’ve been in the building game since I was 16, so over 20 years now, and in that time I’ve picked up a pretty broad range of skills across different trades.
For me, it all comes down to care. I take real pride in the quality and longevity of what we build, making sure every decision we make is about creating something that lasts.
I couldn’t ask for a better team than the one we’ve got at Scotia. Everyone looks out for each other, helps where they can, and genuinely cares about doing the job right.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my partner and son. We’re usually out and about… kayaking, swimming, or kicking the soccer ball around.
My favourite timber would have to be Oak. I worked with it a lot back in Scotland, making everything from furniture to doors and windows. It’s durable, timeless, and has a beautiful natural grain.

Patrick
Qualified Carpenter
Five years in the trade and Pat’s already made his mark as a reliable, detail-focused chippy who takes pride in his work.
He’s got a real knack for fix carpentry and renovations, the kind of jobs where precision matters and you can see the results take shape.
When he’s not on the tools, you’ll usually find him outdoors, camping or out 4WDing somewhere off the beaten track.
What Pat values most about working with Scotia is the people. It’s a supportive crew, easy to get along with, and the variety of work keeps things interesting.
His favourite timber is Spotted Gum. Tough, timeless, and always dependable.

Lachy
Qualified Carpenter
Meet Lachie, one of our skilled chippies with over 10 years on the tools.
He’s someone who’s always got a project on the go, whether it’s woodwork, fixing up his cars, or heading out camping and 4WDing on the weekends.
For Lachie, working with Scotia is all about the people. “It’s a crew that not only cares about the job but also looks out for each other.” That sense of teamwork, along with the variety of work that keeps things interesting, is what he reckons makes the job so rewarding.
His favorite timber is Black Butt. Strong, reliable, and full of character, just like Lachie himself.

Julien
Qualified Carpenter
There’s a real satisfaction in building something that lasts, and that’s what keeps Julien showing up every day.
With over eight years on the tools, he’s built a reputation for his attention to detail and pride in doing the job right.
He loves the variety of work at Scotia, no two days are the same, and the crew makes it even better. Whether it’s solving a challenge on site or having a laugh between tasks, the team spirit is what sets the work apart.
When he’s off the clock, you’ll find Julien gaming, fishing, or at the gym, always keeping his hands (and mind) busy.
For him, seeing a project go from start to finish and knowing he’s helped create something built to last is what it’s all about.

Tommy
Qualified Carpenter
For Tommy, being a chippy isn’t just about the work, it’s about the craft.
With over seven years of experience, he takes pride in the precision, care, and satisfaction that come from seeing a project through from start to finish.
Outside of work, Tommy’s always on the move. He loves playing basketball and hitting the slopes, snowboarding his way around the country whenever he gets the chance.
What he values most about working with Scotia is the shared commitment to quality. Everyone on the team takes the time and care to get the job done right, and that’s something he’s proud to be part of.
His favourite timber is Black Butt, known for its strength and the variety of grain that gives every piece a unique character.

Keely
Apprentice
Keely is one of our apprentices here at Scotia, bringing creativity and a love for the outdoors to everything she does.
She’s passionate about working with timber, appreciating it for its versatility, sustainability, and natural beauty.
Since joining Scotia, Keely’s found the learning experience both fun and rewarding. Surrounded by skilled professionals who are always willing to share their knowledge, she’s been able to grow her confidence and skills on site.
What she enjoys most is the team culture… the support, the encouragement, and the feeling that everyone’s working together toward the same goal.
